How To Spot A Reliable Web Hosting Company

by Terry Hicks

If this is your first time building a website and you are planning to make a career making money online, you better make sure you pick a reliable web hosting company. The consequences could be dire. Your website may be dead before it even gets started.

Many times, people (especially those who are just starting out) often go with very cheap or free web hosting companies that offer third rate service and are usually gone before you know it.

Finding a reliable web hosting is much easier than you think. First off, make sure that the hosting company has been around for quite some time and has some history. The longer they have been around the more trustworthy theyll be. You also need to know that you can get a hold of them 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If and when you encounter a problem you need to know that it can be fixed quickly.

Give it a test run. Find out how well pages load when using a respective hosting company. If you notice a serious lag, they are not right for you. You site has to upload quickly and sharply. Any kind of delay can destroy your business. People don’t have time to wait more than 10 seconds. If that is happening, you are losing money. It’s as simple as that.

It’s obvious people don’t have as much patience as they used to. They can just as easily fin the same information some place else. So there is no reason as to why they would wait around.

Also, when you are using poor hosting services, your websites tend to crash. That is big time no-no in this industry. The moment you start seeing that on your site, its time to look for another company, and quickly. This is by far, the very least a hosting company can do is have you site available to the public. If they can’t even do that, then you know everything else is just going to get worse.

It doesn’t take a lot of searching to find many people that have been ripped off by poor hosting services. Many of them even have security issues where people have put viruses on the server.

Some of these people spent day after day working diligently on their website only to find that it had been hacked into and the site was torn to shreds. You want to make sure you are never in that kind of position. Its a helpless and frustrating feeling (not to mention, you feel very violated).
