Hostgator Is Green, What Is All That About.
Most people have heard of Hostgator and with good reason because these guys are undoubtedly one of the largest web hosting companies in the world. At last count they had somewhere just over 2m domains under their control and are continuing to grow. It is all very impressive for a company that was started in just 2002.
They are primarily a budget web host and provide hosting accounts starting at 5 bucks a month and going up to 13 for a business account, which is certainly affordable for everyone.
Even at these exceptionally low prices the account are all unlimited. Customers can host as many domains as they want as well as use as much bandwidth and diskspace as they need for their purposes. The domains are accessible via FTP and Cpanel and come with technologies such as Perl, MySQL and SSH to name a few.
Again, whilst this stuff sounds impressive there are another 2 potentially more important aspects that tells you whether Hostgator is a company you should be entrusting your domains too.
Initially, I look at the speed with which my sites load, or server speed. it’s not good having a well designed site with great content if it takes forever to load. With host gator this has never been a problem and I am always easily able to get in touch with the support teams, whether it’s online or through the phone.
You don’t have to sign a contract when you sign up, meaning you can cancel at any time and they offer a money back guarantee for up to 45 days. That really shows their confidence in their own service.
Secondly, they are are environmentally friendly company, meaning that they run all their servers from renewable energy credits. This is a big plus for me, as I am very concerned for the environment as well and it has been a passion of mine for some time.
It’s great for me to be able to use a good solid web hosting company that is also committed to the environment and to helping protect our planet. For these reasons, I feel happy to recommend Hostgator.
