Business Travelers and Business Rugged Laptops
There is somewhat of a fallacy that business travelers need their own style of a laptop coined as a “business rugged laptop“. If you know anything at all about rugged portable computers then you know that this is kind of comical.
Rugged portable computers are designed to be used in heavy industry, and some are even certified to be used in combat. These are known in the industry as military style computers and meet the testing required by the US Department of Defense known as MIL SPEC 810F. This is a very demanding and rigid set of materiel tests.
Common sense would suggest that what is already on the market and classified as ruggedized, semi rugged, and fully rugged will meet and exceed the needs of any business traveler, or so-called road warriors.
